How do you pool newsletters into one weekly AI digest?

Point every subscription at one Gmail address, filter it under one label, connect that account’s Gmail to Claude, and let a weekly scheduled task write the digest.

One address collects everything

Gmail’s task-specific addresses are the zero-setup route: “add a plus sign (+) and any word before the @ sign in your current address” — subscribe everywhere as you+news@gmail.com and mail still lands in your inbox. Google’s own example is this exact use: a filter that “can automatically archive and apply the News label to all incoming newsletters” sent to the plus address. Some signup forms reject addresses containing +; for those, filter on the sender instead.

A separate Gmail account keeps subscriptions out of your mailbox entirely, but Claude’s Gmail connector reaches only one Google account — connecting the newsletter account costs you your real one (see Two Google accounts). The fix is documented: Gmail auto-forwarding sends the newsletter account’s mail into your main inbox, where the same label filter catches it.

What the connector needs

The Gmail connector is available on all Claude plans (Team/Enterprise need owner enablement) and lets Claude “search and read emails using natural language queries” and work with labels — so “summarize everything under the News label from the last seven days” is exactly in scope. Reading needs no approval; sending does, by default.

The weekly run

Cowork’s scheduled tasks offer a weekly cadence, run in the cloud with your computer asleep, and have “access to the same capabilities as regular Cowork tasks, including connected tools” — the Gmail connector included. Results land under “Scheduled” in the Cowork sidebar, not in your inbox; having the run email you the digest means an unattended send, which the default ask-first approval would block.
